Don’t Just “Eat Less and Move More”

If you want to lose weight, the old model of counting calories to "eat less" will lead to WEIGHT loss but that’s not what you want.

After age 35, the weight lost this way is often over half muscle. And what you want is FAT loss.

In our 30s we now lose one of the hormones that protects and builds muscle. So it’s easy to lose unless you're eating optimal protein and doing weight-resistant exercise after age 35. In fact, unless you actively protect it, you'll lose some muscle every year whether you’re dieting or not.

And Muscle is important. It’s our metabolic engine that enables us to eat without gaining fat. You have all seen how guys seem to lose weight faster and easier than women... yup... muscle.

The majority of women I know are not lifting weights regularly and are severely under-eating protein.

So when we try to lose weight by just "eating less", we lose muscle instead of fat, and our metabolic rate goes down making it impossible to maintain the weight loss.

When we regain the weight it's all fat so next time weight loss is even harder. And most of us do this many times.

Before you know it, you've lost so much muscle you can barely eat without gaining weight.

Your metabolism isn't "broken" as many people say, it's working exactly the way it's supposed to.

What you eat, how you move and sleep, and how you manage stress, tell your body exactly what to do.

If you want to master your metabolism in midlife, you have to tell your body to do things differently.

This is what I teach my clients.

Not only do I design food guidelines specific to their body, lifestyle and goals, but we also work on changing exercise and sleep habits. We discuss ways to manage stress and how to pursue more passion and purpose.

This is a total life and body transformation so you can age strong.

LFG!
