This family photo was 11 yrs ago.
We look so happy yet I was miserable.
I had no energy.
And not just because I had two small kids.
But because my body was inflamed, over fat and under-muscled.
I was eating lots of sugar and flour, drinking too much and snacking on junk at night after I got the kids to bed.
And I’m a nutrition expert.
But all the nutrition knowledge in the world couldn’t make me change my habits.
I was approaching 41 and was scared to think what 50 would feel like if I didn’t do something differently.
So I did.
I hired help even though I thought I knew it all.
Molly Galbraith was my first coach. She taught me how to lift weights and to stop being so hard on myself.
After a year of working with her, I felt amazing, lost 15 pounds and gained some muscle. I created new habits that I still have today, 11 yrs later.
Because I have Hashimotos, a thyroid autoimmune disorder and was in perimenopause, I began to research and explore how to optimize my hormones, lower my body fat and increase my muscle.
Though I was a size 8-I was technically obese because my body fat was over 33%.
After a few more years of research, a few more coaches and lots of trial and error… I figured out my way to the lean, strong body I have today.
Today at 51, I’m thankful every single day for the 40 yr old me who decided she wanted more.
I’m thankful for her tenacity and that year after year, she did not give up until she figured it out.
I took 30 years of education, research and trial and error and created a 6-month program to help my clients.
